             The 2010 Cambria Oktoberfest will take place Saturday October 2 & 3 from 12:00 Noon (doors open at 11:45 a.m.) ‘till 5:00 p.m. at the Veterans’ Hall, 1000 Main Street in downtown Cambria.

            Sponsored by American Legion Post 432, St. Paul’s Episcopal Church and Santa Rosa Catholic Church, last year the proceeds provided funds for the Legion’s charities, the Cambria Bus, and local food distribution.

            The event offers German food, beer, music and dancing. Music will be provided by the Central Coast’s premier Oktoberfest band, The Mudskippers. Cover charge for each session will be $7.00.

            A German car show will take place in the Vets’ Hall parking lot from 12:00 Noon – 4:00 p.m on Sunday. Click here for Car Show Entry Form.

            The Cambria Town Criers will participate in the ceremonial opening at 2:00 p.m. A Foxy Dachsie beauty contest for dachshunds will take place during the intermission between the sessions.

            The children of the Cambria Montessori School will perform a German folk dance, and area performing groups on the program include the Cambria German Folk Dancers, the Singing Hands Children’s Choir from Paso Robles, Ballet Folklorico Cachanilla (Mexican Youth folk dancers from Paso Robles), Bob Steuwer’s Jitterbug/Swing dancers from Atascadero and Benat Serat (Morro Bay Belly Dancers)      

            Audience participation activities include a Men’s Ugly Legs contest, Ladies’ Lovely Legs contest, Chicken Dance contest, and group singing.
